january 6th, 2011

breakfast of champions.  no coffee this morning, i had to get gas and forgot my cup, so i bought this rockstar punch (well 2 actually for $3) on my way to work.  bananas are full of potassium, and good for cramps (i get them from the pills and the gym) and yogurt is my best friend lately.  these flourescent blue pills i take 6 a day that tan horsepill 2 a day, and that little baby on in the morning only.

delicious yogurt, great for stomach aches.  and these cuties never get old.  i have a snack fetish, and am grateful that the snacking is usually pretty healthy

ate lunch with jason (in the back of the picture), and rosa again.  it was tasty, but lunch was far from healthy.  even though it looks like it is with all that pineapple, lowfat/low calorie yogurt, and the cuties.  but that super chocolately, chocolate chip muffin, killed the whole day.  it alone was 690 calories. hahah.  but well worth it, let me tell you

SNACK TIME!  (meds....)  i love this spicy hummus from trader joe's.  it is probably my favorite variety.  just the perfect amount of spicy.  delicious on sandwiches, i cannot get that across enough.

now these chips are amazing as well.  multi-grain brown rice chips.  black sesame seeds, sprinkled with sea salts, and are just the right crunchy light weight consistancy.  but they do kinda taste like rice cakes, but with the hummus they are great.  and you can eat a lot for the small amount of calories. (to make up for....) the pastrami sandwich you crave =)  this bite, is a quarter sandwich, i just made a half-sandwich to share with my dad.  hot pastrami, hot pepper jack cheese, and some mustard on that wildberry flourless bread
my broccoli garlic-lemon butter sauce in the works!!   how to make:

1) start with about a half a stick of butter,  and put in a saucepan on medium to melt the butter.

2) add in about a tablespoon of minced garlic, or if your using fresh garlic, about 8-10 cloves, smashed and cut up in to reasonably minced sizes. throw in butter, and sautee into the butter infusing the flavor into the butter.

3)  add fresh squeezed lemons, maybe a large lemon, or 2 small lemons

4) add into steamed broccoli, and stir!

my mom made hot tea, but i can't drink hot tea with hot food, so i made a glass of ICED tea, and my broccoli mixture, and some roasted chicken.  it was finger-lickin good thats for sure.  I saved half of my half-chicken for lunch on friday. hot tea after dinner.

so i went to costco, to buy a garmin 265wt gps for my car. (top right picture, with the kettle corn)  they were on sale for $109!  this made for some serious snacking, soy milk, noodle bowls, crunchy italian parmesean bread.... and the grand finale of a churro for desert!
